We had a nice weekend. Saturday we had our cousins over for dinner and we watched an Indiana Jones movie then the dad's took the kids to see the new movie. They all loved it!
Monday we headed to the lake with the rest of the valley! We had to wait about an hour to get on the lake. At least the weather was great. We went with the Standage family. It was great visiting with them!
We are so hooked on that show "Deadliest Catch" the crab fishing show on Discovery. Anyway, we bought a crawdad pot(spell ?)and took it to the lake to lower down and try and catch something! We tied it to a water bottle and left it in a little cove and would check back later in the day. Hope crawdad's love STRING CHEESE & HAM!
We let the kids swim and tube, I think they had a great time. It was too cold for Brandi and I - we just watched from the boat. It was a perfect day out.
Around 4pm or so the starter went out?? We had technical difficulties! We felt so bad, whenever we take a family out and the boat has issues, which it frequently does! At least it was the end of the day. We had a boat tow us in and we had to PASS up the crawdad pot!!!!!! The kids were devastated.
Rich has the new starter and should get the boat fixed today. We are going back to the lake in the next day or two and hope it is still there or we are headed to Wal-Mart to buy another pot!!
We called in a pizza and picked it up on the way home and enjoyed shower's and watching "Deadliest Catch" the rest of the evening! It was GREAT having dad home an extra day this week!

What a fun day. We love to go crawdadding here. Chicken legs work great. There's not a whole lot to do here. . . :)
What a fun memorial day! We went hiking, and on the way up we saw the LINE of boats heading up to the lake! We enviously watched as they all passed! Glad you had fun!

Oh we love Deadliest Catch too! Our boat always has to have at least one problem each summer - but the memories far outweigh the headaches! Looks like such a fun weekend!
Good times! We went to Idaho and got rained on pretty much the whole time.
When I was a kid we had some friends that lived by a pond/lake that someone had set up crawdad traps. We were terrible and would take the crawdads out for ourselves. A couple of times we even brought them back and boiled them up and had a tastey snack. Sounds like you had fun anyway. Hope your pot is still there.
Sounds like another fun family trip for you guys. We always had problems with our boat growing up too - glad that yours lasted til the end of the fun though. Hopefully when you go back your pot will be so full of little crawdaddies you won't know what to do with them all.
Looks like you had a blast. I love Brandi, she is so much fun! I wish Justin was more of a boat person. That looks like the kids loved it and what great memories!
